Mahala Jane Reedy married Simeon Perry Bryan in 1846 in Madison County.  This was the only Reedy family in Madison County in 1840.  The 1850 census says that Elizabeth was born in Virginia.  I believe that in 1840 she was the widow of Phillip Reedy of Shenandoah County, Virginia.  Shenandoah County is adjacent to Rockingham County, where the family of Simeon Perry Bryan lived before they moved to Tennessee and then to Alabama.  Some researchers say that Phillip was born in Rockingham County.

Simeon Perry Bryan was the son of Allen Ludwell Bryan and Phoebe Boggess.  As such, Simeon was the nephew of my fourth great grandfather Thomas C. Bryan Sr. and the first cousin of my third great grandfather Peter H. Bryan.

Allen Ludwell Bryan Sr. was the son of my fifth great grandparents Peter Bryan and Betty Hubbard.  As such, Allen was the brother of my fourth great grandfather Thomas C. Bryan Sr.  Allen Ludwell Bryan Sr. was born in Sevier County, Tennessee.  Allen moved to Alabama sometime before 1814.

Phoebe Boggess was the daughter of Bennett Boggess and Vashti Hubbard.  It seems extremely likely that Betty Hubbard and Vashti Hubbard were related.  But if so, then that relationship is not known and neither of their parents are known.

Peter Grantham Bryan was the son of Allen Ludwell Bryan and Phoebe Boggess. Peter Grantham Bryan was born in Tennessee in 1809, so the family moved to Alabama between 1809 and 1814.

Peter Grantham Bryan married Maria R. Wright on 15 Dec 1835 in Madison County, Alabama.  Maria's parents are not known.

The second male age 20-29 is not known for sure, but he probably was Peter's brother Bennett Boggess (Boggess) Bryan.  Boggess did not marry until 1849, he was not enumerated as head of household in the 1840 census, and he was not enumerated in the household of his parents in 1840.

Simeon Perry Bryan was the son of Allen Ludwell Bryan and Phoebe Boggess. Simeon was the born about 1814 in Alabama.  Simeon was the first family member born in Alabama, so Allen must have moved to Alabama before 1814.

Simeon Perry Bryan married Mahala Jane Reedy on 22 Nov 1846.  Therefore, I do not know who all the other people were in this census entry.  It's tempting to suggest that they may have been brothers and sisters.  However, Simeon's parents were still living in 1840 and were enumerated in their own right.  Also, Simeon's unmarried brothers and sisters were accounted for in the household of his parents.
