I believe that this was Joel Cross, son of Capt. William Cross and Susannah (Sookie) Lane, and the grandson of Zachariah Cross and Elizabeth Ann Dimmit.  If so, then this Joel Cross was the first cousin once removed of my fourth great grandfather William Cross the Revolutionary War drummer boy.
