Henry W. Peters was the son of Tobias Peters Sr. born 1800 in Virginia and Tobias's unknown first wife.  It seems extremely likely that this family was related to Tobias Peters Sr. of Anderson County, Tennessee who was born 1776/79 in Virginia.  However, Tobias born 1776/1779 and Tobias born 1800 were demonstrably not father and son because Tobias born 1776/79 had a son named Tobias Peters Jr. who was born in 1819.

Tobias Peters age 11 was James Tobias Peters.

James Peters age 10 and Hulda A. Peters age 14 were Henry's half brother and half sister, being the children of Tobias Peters Sr. and his second wife Amelia.  It appears that Tobias Peters Sr. and Amelia both died between the 1850 census and the 1860 census.

Tobias Peters Jr. was the son of Tobias Peters Sr. born 1800 in Virginia and Tobias's unknown first wife.

Tobias Peters Jr. and Martha J. E. Slavens were married on 23 Feb 1860 in Randolph County, Arkansas.  I think it is unlikely that Martha R. Peters age 4 was their daughter.  Rather, a Tobias Peters married Susan Phipps on 16 Mar 1855 in Randolph County, Arkansas.  Tobias was 18 at the time of the marriage and Susan was 26.  So I think that the Tobias Peters who married Susan Phipps was the same person that married Martha J. E. Slavens, and that Martha J. Peters age 4 was the daughter of Tobias Peters Jr. and Susan Phipps.
