Samuel Judson Bray was the son of my third great grandfather Edward Payne Bray and Edward's second wife Martha Patsy Sweet. I am descended from Edward's first wife Anna F. Messamore. Samuel's wife was Sarah Jane Ballew. Samuel was enumerated in the 1880 census in Roane County, Tennessee. The family removed to Howell County, Missouri shortly thereafter. I suspect that Samuel and Sarah were married in Missouri rather than in Tennessee, but I do not know for sure. |
