Lucy H. Bryan age 26 was the daughter of James C. Bryan and Sarah Ann Gulledge. Lucy and her husband Elias (Eli) Helms apparently moved from McMinn County, Tennessee to Georgia about 1863. James C. Bryan was the son of William Bryan and Lucinda (Lucy) Cate. As such, James C. Bryan was the nephew of my fourth great grandfather Thomas C. Bryan. Lucy Cate was the sister of Thomas C. Bryan's wife Nancy Cate. So James C. Bryan was the double first cousin of my third great grandfather Peter H. Bryan. |
