Mary Boggs age 32 married Peter S. Bryan on 12 Jan 1840 in Carroll County, Georgia. In 1850, she was apparently Peter's widow. It appears that Levi Boggs age 30 was Mary's brother and that Mary Boggs age 70 was their mother. Giles Sanford Boggess and his wife Sarah Bryan, both of Sevier County, Tennessee, were living nearby Peter S. Bryan and Mary Boggs at the time of the 1840 census. Given the propinquity of Sarah Bryan and Peter S. Bryan in 1840, it raises the possibility that Peter S. Bryan might have had Sevier County roots. Unfortunately, because Peter died before 1850, there is no obvious way to determine if he was born in Tennessee. |
