Homer Messamore was the son of George Henry (Henry) Messamore and Ida M. Altum.  Homer was the great grandson of James Messamore and Sarah (Sary) Heath of Anderson County, Tennessee.  James was the brother of my third great grandmother Anna F. Messamore.

James Messamore stayed in Anderson County, Tennessee as did most of his descendants.  His brother John moved to Illinois and most of the Messamores in Illinois seem to have been descended from John.  So it's interesting to see a descendant of James in Illinois.
