Robert Logan Peery age 36 married Martha Cross age 37 about 1848.  Martha was the daughter of Aquilla Cross age 80 and Rachael Griffits.  Rachael died in Aug 1849, and Aquilla Cross was living with his daughter and son-in-law in 1850.

Aquilla Cross was the son of my fifth great grandparents William Cross and Alice Cole.  As such, Aquilla was the brother of my fourth great grandfather William Cross the Revolutionary War drummer boy.

Aquilla born in Baltimore County, Maryland.  He was the youngest child of William Cross and Alice Cole.  Aquilla was born about the same time his father died in 1770.  The family moved to what is now Sullivan County, Tennessee between 1772 and 1776, and Aquilla appeared on the 1796 tax list for Sullivan County, 118 acres, 1 poll.  Aquilla appeared on the 1812 tax list for Sullivan County.  He moved to Dearborn County, Indiana about 1814.
