Willa Dee Farthing age 21 married Mack T. Rimmer before 1946. Mack was the son of Joseph E. (Joe) Rimmer and Emma Ella (Ella) Cox, and the grandson of my second great grandparents John Tivis Cox and Nancy Ann Pierce. As such, Ella was the sister of my great grandfather George Jackson Cox and Mack was the first cousin of my grandmother Ruby Priscilla Cox. Willa was the daughter of John Farthing age 43, but I don't believe that Edith age 33 was Willa's mother. This census entry suggests that John and Edith were married about 1930, but strictly speaking John's age at first marriage must be incorrect because Willa and William were both born well before 1920. So it appears that the census enumerator made an error and listed John's age at the time of his current marriage, rather than his at at the time of his first marriage. Based on earlier censuses, I believe that John's first wife and the mother of Willa and William was named Flora. |
