Mary Ann Leath age 49 of Anderson County, Tennessee was the daughter of Adison A. Leath and Nancy Ann Cross.  Nancy was the daughter of my fourth great grandfather William Cross the Revolutionary War drummer boy.  As such, she was the sister of my third great grandfather Alfred Carter Cross.

In 1900, Mary Ann Leath was the widow of Hugh L. Hendrix.  There seem to have been several connections between the Cross, Leath, and Hendrix families in Anderson County.

Ura Lee Turk age 4 was the daughter of Noble Turk and Mary's daughter Cynthia Bell Hendrix.  Noble and Cynthia were married 4 Jul 1895 in Cairo, Alexander County, Illinois.  I'm assuming that Cynthia died before 1900, but I do not have a record of her death.  Noble Turk remarried in Sep 1899.

Mary's sister Rutha never married.
