Ida Rhoda Cole age 51 was the daughter of my second great grandparents William Cole and Vesta Clay (Vestie) England. As such, Aunt Ida was the sister of my great grandmother Sallie Jane Cole who married Alva Edward Peters. Aunt Ida married Phillip Hancher Wells age 60 on 21 Sep 1890 in Knox County, Tennessee. It was Phillip's second marriage. His first wife Sarah J. Minge died in 1889. The children still at home in 1920 were Ernest Clifton Wells age 16, Robert C. Wells age 13, and Ruth I. Wells age 7. I don't know why they were living in Kentucky in 1920. They were enumerated in Knox County, Tennessee in 1910 and 1930, and they were all buried in Knoxville. |
