Luther Brown Wells age 40 was the son of Phillip Hancher Wells and Phillip's first wife Sarah J. Minge. Phillip married second Ida Rhoda Cole. Aunt Ida was the daughter of my second great grandparents William (Will) Cole and Vesta Clay (Vestie) England. As such, Aunt Ida was the sister of my great grandmother Salle Jane Cole, and Luther Wells was the half brother of Aunt Ida's children. Genevieve H. Ledbetter age 41 was the daughter of Dempsey T. Ledbetter and Emma W. Hockett age 65. One record for Emma lists her surname as Garrett. It's not 100% clear which name is correct and which is a transcription error, but I believe that Hockett is probably correct. |
