Sarah J. Peters was the daughter of Wesley M. Peters and Catherine/Katherine Paul, and the granddaughter of Tobias Peters Sr. and Elizabeth Rachel Scarborough. It is not known exactly what the connection was between Tobias Peters Sr. and my fifth great grandfather Henry Peters Sr. John Nelson Haggard was the son of Samuel Haggard and Elizabeth Montgomery. John and Sarah were married in 1865 in Anderson County, Tennessee. I'm not sure exactly when they moved to Missouri. I believe that Artilia really was born in Tennessee, but that Mary was born in Missouri (contrary to what the census says). |
