William H. (Will) Rymer was the brother of Martha M. (Mattie) Rymer who married George Steward (Steward) Bryan. Will's wife was Fannie J. Rivers. Will and Mattie were children of John Jacob (Jake) Rymer and Jemima Riemer. The Riemer spelling and the Rymer spelling are probably variants from the same family. Jake and Jemima were both from Polk County, Tennessee and were probably related. George Steward (Steward) Bryan was the son of my third great grandparents Peter H. Bryan and Mary Ann (Polly Ann) Cate. As such, Steward was the brother of my second great grandfather William Allen (Will) Bryan. Mattie Rymer died when her children were very young, and Will Rymer helped to raise Mattie's daughter Pauline (Polly) Bryan. |
