The family name was misspelled by the census enumrator. The correct spelling is Richard without the s. Another error is that the newborn infant was actually a daughter, Dean Christine (Tina) Richard. Tina was the daughter of Marion Gilbert (Gilbert) Richard age 27 and Dorothy Elizabeth Beal age 26. Tina married my second cousin Everette Denver (Denver) Ailey on 24 Mar 1958 in Dade County, Georgia. Denver was the son of Arville Randolph Ailey and Alma Gertrude Slaton and the grandson of Joseph Porter (Port) Slaton and Minnie Ann Cox. Denver is my second cousin as a Cox and is also my third cousin once removed as a Slaton. |
Uncle Port was the son of Francis Marion (Frank) Slaton and Mary Anne Moore and the grandson of my third great grandparents Thomas Fielden (Tom) Slaton and Rebecca Francis George. As such, Frank was the brother of my second great grandmother Susan A. Slaton and Uncle Port was the first cousin of my great grandmother Nancy Virginia (Nannie) Harrison. Aunt Minnie was the daughter of my great grandparents George Jackson Cox and Clarissa Loretta (Rett) Nichols. As such, Aunt Minnie was the sister of my grandmother Ruby Priscilla Cox. |
