Shem Yarbrough was probably the grandfather of Henry Clay Yarbrough also known as Clinton Yarbrough and who also sometimes spelled his last name as Yarber. Henry Clay Yarber was the stepfather of Caledonia D. (Callie) Evans who married James E. Messamore in 1879 in Hamblen County, Tennessee.
