I believe this was Elizabeth Linville, "widow" of Wilcher C. (Billy or Buck) Slaton. The problem is, Wilcher didn't die until after 1880. I am guessing that Wilcher was off in Tennessee visiting the rest of the family who had moved to Tennessee and that he was planning a move as well. John Norton age 6 appears to have been the son of Ruthy. Robert and James Slaton appear to have been the sons of Elizabeth. The ages of Robert and James match up very will with the marriage of Wilcher Slaton and Elizabeth Linville on 18 Jul 1854. Wilcher C. (Billy or Buck) Slaton was the son of my fourth great grandparents William Slaydon and Susannah Flippin. As such, he was the brother of my third great grandfather Thomas Fielden (Tom) Slaton. Elizabeth (Betsy) Linville was the daughter of Moses Linville and Henrietta White who were living next door in dwelling number 80. |
