 20-29 0 1 1811-1820
 30-39 2 1 1801-1810 Michael Mauk, Juliet Wilson

Margaret E. (Maggie) Mauk age 00-04 married Jacob C. Bryan in 1858.  Jacob was the son of Enoch George Bryan Sr. and Rebecca Moyer.  Maggie was the daughter of Michael Mauk and Juliet Wilson.

It is not completely proven, but Enoch George Bryan Sr. was probably the son of Cornelius Bryan Sr., and the grandson of John Andrew Bryan and Mary.  John Andrew Bryan was the brother of my sixth great grandfather Thomas C. Bryan, so that Cornelius Bryan Sr. was the first cousin of my fifth great grandfather Peter Bryan.

Daniel Giger 0110011-111101, 9 people total,
                              1 engaged in agriculture

 00-04 0 1 1836-1840 Eliza Jane Geiger
 05-09 1 1 1831-1835 Jackson Geiger, Lavina Geiger
 10-14 1 1 1826-1830 Jesse Geiger, Margaret Geiger

 30-39 1 1 1801-1810 Jane Cloud
 40-49 1 1791-1800 Daniel Geiger

Lavina Geiger married Cornelius Bryan on 23 Oct 1859.  Cornelius was the son of Enoch George Bryan Sr. and Rebecca Moyer.

I believe that Enoch George Bryan Sr. was the son of Cornelius Bryan Sr. of Rockingham County, Virginia.  Cornelius was the son of John Andrew Bryan and the grandson of my seventh great grandfather Cornelius O'Bryan.  So Enoch's father Cornelius Bryan was probably the first cousin of my fifth great grandfather Peter Bryan.

A couple of the census pages appear to have been microfilmed out of order.  In particular, p.351b appears to have been microfilmed before p.351a rather than after.  p.351a is a left facing page and p.351b is the corresponding right facing page.  The right facing pages in the 1840 census contain the information about the total number of family in the census and about the occupation in which they were engaged.

p.387a, line 2, Richland Twp, Fairfield County, Ohio, 1840
Smith Armstrong 00001-10101, 4 people total, 1 in agriculture
                                              1 in manufacturing and trade

 00-04 0 1 1836-1840 Phoebe Eliza Armstrong
 05-09 0 0 1831-1835
 10-14 0 1 1826-1830 Julia Ann (Ann) Linville
 15-19 0 0 1821-1825
 20-29 1 1 1811-1820 Obidiah Smith (Smith) Armstrong

Phoebe Eliza Armstrong age 00-04 later married Enoch George Bryan Jr.  Enoch George Bryan Jr. was the son of Enoch George Bryan Sr. and Rebecca Moyer.

Phoebe was the daughter of Obidiah Smith (Smith) Armstrong and Julia Ann (Ann) Linville.

Ann Linville was the daughter of Joseph L. Linville and Margaret Parrot of Rockingham County, Virginia.  My Bryan line moved to Tennessee from Rockingham County in 1790.  They had neighbors in Rockingham County who were Linvilles, and they lived on Linville Creek.

Ann Linville was about ten years younger than her husband.  It's impossible to know for certain, but I believe that Ann was the younger woman, perhaps about 15 years old at the time of the census, and that the older woman was somebody else, perhaps a relative of Smith Armstrong such as a sister.  It's obviously possible that Ann was the older woman and that the younger woman was somebody else.

(Moyers from Rockingham County, Virginia were also in Rush Creek Twp in 1840.  Eyemans, Custers and Linvilles from Rockingham County were in Richland Twp in 1840. RJP)

A couple of the census pages appear to have been microfilmed out of order.  In particular, p.387b appears to have been microfilmed before p.387a rather than after.  p.387a is a left facing page and p.387b is the corresponding right facing page.  The right facing pages in the 1840 census contain the information about the total number of family in the census and about the occupation in which they were engaged.
