Charles Andrew (Charlie) Romines age 43 married first Dora Kate Underwood. Dora died about 1918, and Charlie remarried about 1922. Oma, Hugh, and Delbert were Dora's children with Charlie. Dora Kate Underwood was the daughter of Joel Joseph Underwood and Julia E. Bales. Joel Joseph Underwood was the son of Thomas Underwood and Frances Elizabeth (Elizabeth) Johnson, and the grandson of my fifth great grandfather John Underwood and John's second wife Elizabeth Manifold. As such, Joel was the nephew of my fourth great grandmother Nancy Underwood. Julia E. Bales was the daughter of William Bales and Ava Manuary Cate, and the granddaughter of my fourth great grandparents Joshua Cate and Elizabeth (Betsy) Wilhite. As such, Julie was the niece of my third great grandmother Mary Ann (Polly Ann) Cate. Charlie Romines' second wife was Martha Elizabeth age 43. I do not have her maiden name. Martha was the mother of Jessie L. and Charles A. Romines. |
