Ada Louise Yadon age 25 was the daughter of Bayard Earl Yadon and Ella Mae Peters. Aunt Ella was the daughter of my great grandparents Alva Edward (Alvy) Peters and Sallie Jane Cole. As such, Aunt Ella was the sister of grandfather Ernest Lester (Lester) Peters Sr. and Ada Yadon was my mother's first cousin. Baird Yadon and Ella Peters were both from Tennessee, but they lived briefly in Middlesboro, Kentucky as Baird was starting his newspaper career. It was in Middlesboro where Ada was born.

Ada married Harold Eugene Huffman age 27 on 14 Mar 1944 in Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee. Harold was the son of Arlo Ream (Ream) Huffman and Velma Mae Dull.

Ada and Harold both were students at Maryville College, and they were married in the Maryville College chapel. He had finished three years, and she had finished two years at the time they were married. It was during WWII, and he left for active duty in the Marine Corps shortly after they were married. He returned to college after the war, and they graduated together in the same year. After they graduated from Maryville College, he went to seminary for three years in Pittsburgh.
