Edward Payne Bray was my third great grandfather. He was born in Kentucky. I do not know the precise date when he and other Bray family members moved to Tennessee. Edward's father John Bray was enumerated as head of household in the 1830 Anderson County census, so the family must have moved to Tennessee before 1830.
Also, John Bray was not enumerated in the 1840 census. So he likely died between 1830 and 1840. A female who was the correct age to have been John's wife Jane was enumerated in the family of Edward Payne Bray in the 1840 census.
