Vital Statistics, 1914-1925, Anderson County, Tennessee

Cross, Joseph Black age 73 b. Anderson County fa Alfred Cross
(Anderson County) mo Bettie Black (Anderson County)
       d. 1914 #256

Alfred Cross was the son of Brittain Cross.  Alfred's brother William married Elizabeth (Bettie) Black's sister Jane Black.  Just as Alfred Cross and Bettie Black had a son named Joseph Black Cross, William Cross and Jane Black had a son named Joseph B. Cross.  I don't know if the latter Joseph Cross's middle name was "Black" or not, but it probably was.

Wilshire, Eppie age 42 b. Tn fa I.S. Wilshire (KY) mo
       Sophronia Scarbrough (TN) d. 1915 #12

I believe that Sopronia Scarbrough was the daughter of Epicurean Calvin (Eppie) Scarbrough and Tabitha Dorcas P. Wilson.  R.S. Wilshire and S.E. Scarbrough were m. 5 Oct 1865 in Anderson County.  Eppie Wilshire would have been named after his grandfather Eppie Scarbrough.  Also, an E.C. Willshire married Amanda Rodgers 25 Dec 1892 in Roane County.  This was probably Eppie Wilshire, whose full name was probably Epicurean Calvin Wilshire after his grandfather.

Miller, Agnes Victoria age 49 b. TN fa J.L. Scarbrough
       mo Frances E. David (TN) d. 1915 #45

Agnes Victoria Scarbrough was the daughter of Jonathan Lupton Scarbrough and Frances E. (Fannie) Davis.  She was b. 31 Oct 1855, d. 10 Mar 1915. She m. John Miller 5 Feb 1874.

England, George 52 b. Anderson County fa George W. England
(Anderson County) mo Pollie Smith d. 1920 #157.

I believe there must be some sort of transcription or other error.  I believe this George England was the son of Francis Marion England and Mary Smith.  They had a son named George W. England b. about 1869, and George W. England, son of Francis and Mary, was the only George England enumerated in the 1870 Anderson County census who was the right age to be this George England.  I don't have any children listed for this George England, but perhaps he had a son named George W. England, and perhaps George W. England (the son) was the informant for the death certificate rather than the father.
