These voting rolls can serve as a very poor surrogate for the 1890 census, which was destroyed by fire.
ancestry.com includes an index for the 1891 Tennessee enumeration of male voters. The ancestry.com index does not include the ages of the voters. For some counties, the age of the voters were listed in the original enumeration and for some counties the age of the voters was not listed. I have not yet found the original enumeration for Fentress County, so I do not know if the age of the voters was listed or not. The data below is from ancestry.com.

Thomas Blufford Peters was the son of Henry Clark (Clark) Peters and Perlina Ann Shilling. Thomas Blufford Peters was one of mine, but there nevertheless is a bit of uncertainty about his ancestry. Thomas's father Henry Clark (Clark) Peters was the son either of Henry Peters Jr. or of Thomas Peters. Henry Jr. and Thomas were brothers, and both of them were my fourth great grandfathers. |
