Lenzy England was the son of Robert Lakey England and Martha Jane (Jane) Jones. I have not yet found the surname of Lenzy's wife Mattie. Robert Lakey England was the son of my third great grandparents John England and Jane Peters. As such, Robert was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay (Vestie) England. So Lenzy England was Vestie's nephew, and he was the first cousin of my great grandmother Sallie Jane Cole. |

Ervin Monroe Peters was the son of Wilborn/Welborn Harvey (Harve) Peters and Mary Jane Todd. Ervin's wife was Rosalee McCulley. Ervin's stepmother was Mahala E. Norred age 57, who was the third wife of Harve Peters. Carrie Peters age 28 was Mahala's daughter, so Carrie was Ervin's half sister. Wilborn/Welborn Harvey (Harve) Peters was the son of Henry Clark (Clark) Peters and Perlina Ann Shilling. Perlina Ann Shilling was either 1/4 or 1/2 Cherokee, leading to the statement I have sometimes heard that "the Peters have Indian blood". This particular line of Peters certainly did, but I do not believe that my Peters line did. Clark Peters was the son of either Thomas Peters or of Thomas's brother Henry Peters Jr. Both Thomas and Henry Jr. were my fourth great grandfathers. I am descended from three of their children through cousin marriages, namely John W. Peters, Zipporah Peters, and Jane Peters. John W. was the son of Henry Jr., and Zipporah and Jane were daughters of Thomas. Because Clark was the son of either Thomas or of Henry Jr., he was the brother of John W. and the first cousin of Zipporah and Jane, or vice versa. |

Sherman, Pansy, and Bessie Peters were children of William Burton (Burton) Peters and Bertha Mary (Bertie) Ramsey. James Alvin (Alvin) Ramsey age 71 and Mary Ann Atkinson age 68 were Bertie's parents. It is not clear why the children were living with their grandparents. The most likely case is that Bertie had died. I cannot find Bertie in the 1930 census. I may or may not have found Burton in the 1930 census. Burton apparently died in 1959. Burton Peters was the son of John Wesley Peters and the grandson of Henry Clark (Clark) Peters. Henry Clark (Clark) Peters was one of mine, but there is a bit of uncertainty about his exact ancestry. Clark Peters was the son either of Henry Peters Jr. or of Thomas Peters. Henry Jr. and Thomas were brothers, and both of them were my fourth great grandfathers. |
