Mary C. Cross was the daughter of William Cross and Jane Black,
both of Anderson County, Tennessee. Her husband was Americus
Claiborne Plumlee. James Cross is a puzzle. He might
have been Mary's brother James C. Cross. However, James C.
Cross was enumerated in the 1870 census in Anderson County,
Tennessee. So if this James Cross was Mary's brother, then
he was enumerated twice, once in Anderson county and once in
Franklin County. Another possibility is Mary's
double first cousin James B. Cross who was the son of Alfred
Cross and Elizabeth (Bettie) Black. Unfortunately, I do not
have a birth date for James B. Cross.
