Afallin (Affie) Slayden was the daughter of Thomas Slayden and Rachel Slayden.  Thomas and Rachel were first cousins who married.  Thomas was the brother of my fourth great grandfather William Slaydon.  So Affie was William's niece.

Affie's husband was James Trice Hall Sr.  Rachel Ann Hall age 14 was their daughter.  Rachel was married to John Ethridge age 18.  James Trice Hall Jr. was living next door with his wife Rhoda Ethridge.  John Ethridge and Rhoda Ethridge were brother and sister, so Hall siblings married Ethridge siblings.

I believe that this was Thomas Slayden, son of my fifth great grandparents Daniel Slayden and Nancy Shelton.  If so, then Thomas was the brother of my fourth great grandfather William Slaydon.

Thomas married his first cousin Rachel Slayden.  Rachel was the daughter of Joseph Slayden and Mildred.
