George Alger Francis (Alger) Slaton was the son of Joseph Porter (Port) Slaton and Minnie Cox. He died 10 Mar 1997. His wife Mary Ellen Frye was the daughter of Mac Frye and Molly McSpadden. Alger Slaton was my father's first cousin as a Cox, with the common ancestors being my great grandparents George Jackson Cox and Clarissa Loretta (Retta or Rett) Nichols. Alger Slaton was my father's second cousin once removed as a Slaton, with the common ancestors being my third great grandparents Thomas Fielden (Tom) Slaton and Rebecca Frances George. |
