Many of the individuals who are annotated were from the Peters family in Anderson County, Tennessee. The Peters family moved to Anderson County from Virginia in 1797.  The family was founded in Anderson County by Henry Peters Sr. and Tobias Peters Sr.  The two men were probably brothers. My line is descended from Henry rather than from Tobias.

 1. Alfred K. Peters, appears to have been the son of Christian Peters and Eliza Lewis. Alfred's middle initial of K in the city directory may be incorrect. He was from Carter County, Tennessee. In turn, the Peters family in Carter County was from Rockingham County, Virginia. The Peters family in Anderson County, Tennessee was from Rockingham County, Virginia by way of Greenbrier County, Virginia. The exact connection between the Peters families of Anderson County and Carter County is not known, but DNA evidence confirms that the two branches of the family have common ancestry.

 2. Miss Alice Peters of 423 E Baxter Avenue was the daughter of Alfred Peter and Bell Lovelace, also of 423 E Baxter Avenue.

 9. Ella Mae Peters, daughter of my great grandparents Alva Edward (Alvy) Peters and Sallie Jane Cole. 1150 Hoitt Avenue was the address of the household of Robert D. (Rob) Buckner.  Lester Peters was one of Ella's brothers and the Buckners were the parents of Lester's first wife Amy Buckner who died of the Spanish flu in 1920.  So Ella was living with Lester's former in-laws.

11. My grandfather Ernest Lester (Lester) Peters Sr., son of my great grandparents Alva Edward (Alvy) Peters and Sallie Jane Cole.

22. Lois J. Peters, daughter of William Reuben Peters Sr. and Jimmie Noe Baird.  Lois was the second great granddaughter of Tobias Peters Sr.

27. Molly Caroline Cole Peters, daughter of my second great grandparents William Cole and Vesta Clay England, sister of my great grandmother Sallie Jane Cole, widow of Robert Asbury Peters who was the brother of my great grandfather Alva Edward (Alvy) Peters.  Children of the Peters brothers and Cole sisters were double first cousins.

35. Stella Eva Peters, daughter of Wesley C. Peters and Mary Sophronia York.  Stella was the second great granddaughter of Tobias Peters Sr.

40. Walter Marshall Peters, son of Samuel Tobias (Sam) Peters and Sarah Katherine (Katie) Rogers.  Walter was the great grandson of Tobias Peters Sr.

42. William Daily (Will) Peters, son of my second great grandparents John H. Peters and Hulda Asberine (Asberine) Cross, brother of my great grandfather Alva Edward (Alvy) Peters.  William Daily Peters was known to my branch of the family as Uncle Will.

45. William Reuben Peters Sr., son James Wiley (Wiley) Peters and Nancy E. (Nannie) Dail.  William was the great grandson of Tobias Peters Sr.

46. William Reuben Peters Jr., son William Reuben Peters Sr. and Jimmie Noe Baird.  William was the second great grandson of Tobias Peters Sr.
