Warranty Deed    )  This Indenture made and entered on this 7th
Staub, VanGilder )  day of December 1871 By and Between Peter
& Henderson      )  Straub, Wm. Henderson and John S. Vangilder
     to          )  of the County of Knox, State of Tennessee parties
Wm. Cole         )  of the first part and William Cole of the
                 )  same place party of the second part.
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of
Five Hundred Dollars in payment to a follows one note
Dated this day for one year for one hundred and sixty
six 67/100 dollars - one note dated this day at two years
for one hundred & sixty six 67/100 Dollars one note at
three years for one hundred & sixty six dollars
Evidenced by notes of even dates hereof and bearing interest
at ten per cent from date until paid to secure the payment
of which a specific lein (sic) is hereby expressly retained upon
premises hereinafter conveyed the said parties of the first
part have Bargained and sold and by these presents
Transfer and convey unto the said party of the second
part a certain lot or parcel of land known and designated
as lot No 227 & 229 in Staub VanGilder & Henderson
addition to Knoxville and Bounded as follows on the
North West corner of Fourth avenue & Lamar Street
and Beginning at said corner and Fronting fifty
feet on fourth avenue and thence northerly at right
angles on hundred and Fifty feet to lot no 326 &
thence parallel with Sixth avenue Fifty feet (50 ft.) to
Lamar Street thence Southerly one hundred and fifty feet
(150 ft.) to the Beginning i containing in all 50 ft. by 150 ft.
to have and to hold unto the said party of the second
Part his heirs and assigns forever as an indefeasible
Inheritance in fee simple.  And the said parties of the
first part covenant to and with the said party of the
second part that they are lawfully seized of said premises
have a good right to convey and that the same are
unencumbered and the title as herein conveyed they
will Warrant and forever defend against the lawful
Claim of all persons whomsoever.
In Witness of all which the Said parties of the first
Part have hereunto set their hands, stamp and seal
on the day first above written.

Lein (sic) Released on the above Jan 7th 1876 purchase money paid
in full & interest Staub VanGelder & Henderson by Staug VanGelder.
