Many researchers list William Martin Bray as the son of my third great grandparents Edward Payne Bray and Anna F. Messamore.  Edward Payne Bray and Anna F. Messamore did have a son named William M. Bray who was born about 1844, but I have confirmed via his death certificate that this William M. Bray was a different one.  William Martin Bray was the son of John Harmon Bray Jr. and Manerva Ann Walker  Following the line backwards, the next generations were John Harmon Bray Sr., John Bray who married Mary Hannah Craven, Henry Bray Jr. who married Saray Yokley, and Henry Bray who married Mary Wilson.

I'm researching William Martin Bray to try to find the William M. Bray who was the son of Edward Payne Bray.  I can't find any record of Edward's son William after the 1860 census.

William Martin Bray's wife was Harriet Frances Fuller.

William G. Cole was the son of Alexander T. (Sandy) Cole and Sandy's first wife.

Based on his 1850 and 1860 census entries, I have looked at this William Cole is a possibility for the William Cole who married Vesta Clay England in 1865 and who was my second great grandfather.  But, alas, the census in 1870 proves that this William Cole was not my William Cole.  I am including the 1880 census entry for the family only for completeness.
