Mary Sue Odom age 14 later married Fred R. Bryan.  Fred was the son of Silas Amberson Bryan and Amanda Melzina (Mandy) Slaton.  As such, Fred was the nephew of my great grandfather William Harley (Harley) Bryan.  Also, Fred was the grandnephew of my second great grandmother Susan A. Slaton.  Silas and Mandy were known in the family as Uncle Silas and Aunt Mandy.  Fred was the first cousin of my grandfather Emmert Oral Bryan as a Bryan, and Fred and Emmert were second cousins as Slatons.

Mary Sue Odom was the daughter of John Hardin Odom and Flora Sherman Guthrey.

Elmer Lee Franklin age 7 married Eunice B. Slaton in 1934 in Jefferson County, Tennessee.  Eunice was the daughter of Joseph Porter (Port) Slaton and Minnie Ann Cox.  Minnie Ann Cox was the sister of my grandmother Ruby Priscilla Cox.  Port Slaton was the nephew of my second great grandmother Susan A. Slaton.

Elmer Lee Franklin was the son of Mack Buford Franklin and Annie V. Webb.  Mack was born in Jefferson County, Tennessee.  Elmer served as sheriff of Jefferson County, Tennessee.  Eunice was bonded and worked with Elmer in the sheriff's office.  She was very proud of having been the sheriff's wife.

George William Bryan age 38 was the son of Robert L. Bryan and Sarah (Sallie) Barnett.  Robert L. Bryan was the son of James C. (Jim) Bryan and Sarah Ann Gulledge.  James was the double first cousin of my third great grandfather Peter H. Bryan.  That is to say, Peter H. Bryan was the son of my fourth great grandparents Thomas C. Bryan Sr. and Nancy Cate, and James C. Bryan was the son of William Bryan and Lucy Cate.

Ethel Jane Lee age 32 was the daughter of Rev. Granville Lee and Mary Caroline Prince.
