Dica Ann (Dicy) Smith was my third great grandmother.  She married first my third great grandfather Jacob England, and married second James Calvin (Calvin) Giles.

Jacob died in 1863 in the Civil War, and Dicy married Calvin Giles in 1865.  Dicy died in 1895, so that Calvin was widowed in the 1900 census.  This census entry correctly reports that Calvin and Dicy were married for 30 years before Dicy's death.

Nancy M. (Nannie) Giles was the youngest child of Calvin Giles and Dicy Smith.  All of Dicy's children with Jacob England had long since moved out by the time of the 1900 census.

William Morgan (Will) Giles was the son of my third great grandmother Dica Ann (Dicy) Smith and her second husband James Calvin (Calvin) Giles.  Dicy's first husband Jacob England was my third great grandfather who died in the Civil War.  Dicy died in 1895, but Calvin Giles was still living in 1900 and his house (dwelling number 112) was very near to William Giles.

Will's wife was Cora Pickens Ellis.
