John Bible Messimer was the son of Henry Messimer and Susan/Susannah Bible.  Maria Logon Hughes was the daughter of Abner Hughes and Sarah.  I do not know if there is a connection between this Messemer family and my Messamore family of Anderson County, Tennessee.

I believe that Henry Messimer was the brother of my fourth great grandfather William/Wilhelm Messamore.  If so, then John Bible Messimer was William's nephew.

Thomas Messimer was the son of Henry Missimer and Susan Bible.  Susan was living next door in dwelling number 707.

Thomas married first Nancy Jane Jones.  Nancy Jane was the mother of James Henry (Henry) Mesimer, William Marshal Mesimer, and Emila Matilda (Matilda) Mesimer.  Henry is reflected in the 1840 census entry for the family as a male age 00-04.  Nancy Jane appeared in the 1840 census as a female born between 1821 and 1825.  Nancy Jane died about 1843, possibly while giving birth to Matilda.

Thomas married second Almeda Elizabeth (Elizabeth) Torbett.  Elizabeth was the mother of Mary and Albert.  Another child John A. Mesimer was born in 1846 and died as an infant.

Susan Bible was the daughter of Phillip Bible and Margaret Miller.  In 1850, she was the widow of Henry Messimer.  Well, two different dates are proposed for the death of Henry Messimer.  One death date is 10 May 1848, which is consistent with Susan being a widow in 1850.  The other death date for Henry is 7 Feb 1856, which is not consistent with Susan being a widow in 1850.  Further research will be required to resolve this issue.  William Bible Messimer, Sarah Ann Messimer, and Henry Marshall Messimer were Susan's children.
