Charlotte J. Shannon was the daughter of P. Wright Shannon and Sidney Viles/Voyls. Charlotte used a number of different nicknames, including Lottie, Lollie, and Sharlley. The death certificate of her son William Wright Peters says that William's mother was Lollie Voyls and that his father was Tom Peters. So Wright Shannon may not have been Charlotte's birth father. She was born in 1845 and her parents were married in 1849. So she may have been born out of wedlock, or her mother Sidney may have married first a Mr. Voyls prior to marrying Wright Shannon. However, all subsequent records, including the records of Charlotte's marriage to Tom Peters, says that her surname was Shannon.
She married first Thomas J. (Tom) Peters and she married second William Roddy. She seems to have resumed using the surname of Peters after the death of William Roddy. Tom Peters was the son of my third great grandparents John W. Peters and Ruby Smith. As such, Tom was the brother of my second great grandfather John Henry Peters.

I'm not a McCart/McCartt researcher (even though there were McCart/Peters marriages). I gathered the following McCart/McCartt inscriptions for a fellow researcher.
