80-89 1 1751-1760 Edward Wiatt (age 81, Revolutionary War Pensioner)

My interest in this family is that Edward Wyatt age 81 was the only Wyatt enumerated in the 1830 census for Anderson County, Tennessee.  My fifth great grandparents in Anderson County were Henry Peters Sr. and Mary WiatteHenry and Mary were married in 1788 in Greenbrier County, Virginia before moving to Tennessee in 1797.  I have no idea who Mary's parents were.

Henry Peters Sr. was born in Pennsylvania, the Peters moved from Greenbrier County to Tennessee along with the Scarbroughs, the Scarbroughs were from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and Edward Wiatt was born in Bucks County.  So natually there is a suspicion that Mary Wiatte and Edward Wiatt might have been related.

 20-29 1 0 1811-1820 John Peters
 30-39 1 1801-1810 Sarah

There was a John Peters with one child in the 1840 Roane County Scholastic census, and a John Peters with two children in the 1843 Roane County Scholastic census.  There was a Sarah Peters with two children in the 1844 Scholastic census.  My guess would be that this is the same John, and that he died in 1843/1844, leaving Sarah as his widow for the 1844 Scholastic census.  Further evidence for this John Peters is that he appeared in the Roane County tax list in 1836, 1837, 1838, 1840, 1841, 1843, and 1844.  He was listed with land for all years except 1844, lending further weight to the suspicion that he died in 1844.

I further believe that this John Peters was the son of Tobias Peters Sr. and Elizabeth Rachel Scarborough.

 40-49 1 1 1791-1800 Michael Smith, Phoebe

Michael H. Smith age 8 married Margaret L. Messamore in 1856 in Union County, Illinois.  Margaret L. Messamore was the daughter of John Messamore and Elizabeth (Betsy) Minton.  The John Messamore family moved to Illinois about 1852.  I assume that the Michael Smith family must have moved to Illinois in about the same timeframe.

John Messamore was the son of my fourth great grandparents William/Wilhelm Messamore and Margarethe Elizabeth (Peggy) May.  As such, he was the brother of my third great grandmother Anna F. Messamore.
