My third great grandparents Peter Hubbard Bryan and Mary Ann (Polly Ann) Cate sold 66 acres to their son William Allen (Will) Bryan.

Will Bryan was my second great grandfather.  He married my second great grandmother Malissa E. Underwood in 1872 and they purchased this land in 1886..  I do not know where Will and Malissa lived prior to purchasing this land.

I have been able to identify the exact location of the land on a modern map. Will died in 1928 and Malissa continued to live on the property until her death in 1946.  The house is still in good condition and is occupied by the present owner.  My father remembers the house very well.

The original 66 acres now consists of four large parcels of about 15 acres each, plus several smaller parcels of 1 or 2 acres.  The house is on one of the larger 15 acre parcels.

There was an additional house on the property, but the additional house is no longer there and I don't know exactly where it was.  The additional house was the home of Will Bryan's son William Harley (Harley) Bryan and Harley's wife Nancy Virginia (Nannie) HarrisonHarley and Nannie were my great grandparents, and this same farm is therefore where my grandfather Emmert Oral Bryan and his three younger sisters were raised.
