Sevier County, Tennessee marriages

 8 Feb 1858 - William C. Cate - Sarah A. Conner
     I don't know who this is.  There is speculation that William
     C. Cate may be the son of Joshua Cate and Elizabeth Wilhite
     because they were living nearby in the 1860 census.  But I really
     don't have William listed as a son of Joshua and Elizabeth
     in my data base.

14 Feb 1860 H.H. Moore - Rebecca E. Cate
     Hugh Henry Moore and Rebecca Emaline Cate.  She was the daughter of
     Elisha Cate and Mary Elizabeth Newman.  Hugh Henry Moore was the
     son of Zachariah Chaney (Chaney) Moore and Martha (Patsy) Allen.


 4 Mar 1860 - Albert Moore - Sarah A. Cate (Sarah Adeline?)
     I wonder if this is Albert Allen Moore, son of Zachariah
     Chaney (Chaney) Moore and Martha (Patsy) Allen and
     Sarah Adeline Cate, daughter of Elisha Cate and Mary
     Elizabeth Newman.  I do not have a marriage for either
     Albert or Sarah.


22 Sep 1864 - Albert M. Cate - Ann E. Johnson
     This was Albert McClain Cate, son of an unknown Mr. McClain
     and Mary Catherine Cate.  He started out using the McClain
     surname, but switched to using his mother's surname of Cate.
     I do not believe that Mr. McClain and Mary Catherine Cate
     were ever married.

28 Dec 1865 - Harry (Henry) C. Cate - Mary Jane Thornburgh
     Henry Clay Cate was the son of Elisha Cate and Mary Elizabeth
     Newman.  Mary Jane Johnson was the widow of Thomas Lowery
     Thornburg.

 5 Aug 1866 - Charles Reed - Mary Cate
     Mary Cate was the daughter of Joshua Cate and Elizabeth (Betsey)
     Tankersley.

 3 Sep 1873 - John Thompson - Mollie S. Cate
