Elijah Peters was the son of Tobias Peters Sr. and Elizabeth
Rachel Scarborough.  Elijah was born in Anderson County,
Tennessee in Dec 1826.  It is not clear exactly when and
how he got to Texas, except that it was before 1850.
Elizabeth J. Covington was Elijah's second wife.  They were
married 21 Jan 1861.  The children from Elijah's first marriage
have already left home by 1880.

wife of Elijah Peters.  Charity was living next door to her
