I don't think I'm related to anybody in this family. But I chased down this census entry because of Effie Prosise. Apparently, there were two of them. Effie Prosise of Texas was the daughter of Jefferson Davis Prosise and Sarah Ann Maria Adeline Taylor. Effie Prosise of Tennessee was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin (Frank) Prosise and Jemima Jane (Jane) Peters. Jane Peters was the niece of my third great grandfather John W. Peters, so I am related to Effie Prosise of Tennessee. The two Effies were related, but only distantly. They were fourth cousins once removed. They were both Effie L. Prosise. Effie Prosise of Texas was Effie Louisa. For Effie Prosise of Tennessee, I have only the middle initial and not a middle name. |
