Phillip F. Letsinger age 29 was born in Anderson County, Tennnessee.  He was the son of Daniel (Dan) Letsinger and Mary W. Shinpaugh.  Dan and Mary were the great grandparents of Samuel Mabry (Sam) Letsinger.  Uncle Sam married Elza Cordelia (Elzie) Peters who was the sister of my grandfather Ernest Lester (Lester) Peters Sr.

Phillip married Susannah England on 2 Dec 1852 in Anderson County, Tennessee.  Susannah was the daughter of Titus England and Elizabeth.  As such, Susannah was the sister of my third great grandfather John England.  Susannah cannot be located in any census after 1850.  It seems likely that she died before 1860.

It seems possible that Phillip knew the Harper family before he arrived in Texas.  John M. Harper age 51 was already in Texas in the 1850 census.  If Phillip knew the Harpers, it was from before 1850.
