I do not have any expectation that this Peters family is connected to any of mine.  But Scott County, Virginia is right across the state line from Sullivan County, Tennessee and was on one of the main immigration routes from western Virginia into East Tennessee.  Also, my immigrant ancestor into East Tennessee was Henry Peters Sr.  Henry Peters Sr. moved from Greenbrier County, Virginia (now Monroe County, West Virginia) to Anderson County, Tennessee in 1797.  So I'm trying to cover all my bases.

The parents of Henry B. Peters of Scott County, Virginia were apparently Henry Peters 1771-1859 and Mary Waite 1771-1850/60.  Judith Moore was the daughter of James Moore and Jane Delia Gilliam.

The dates for my Henry Peters Sr. were 1769-1850/60, and he married Mary Wiatte who died before 1830.  These are strange coincidences of names and dates, and it makes me worry that there were two Peters families which are very easy to get mixed up.

Henry Peters 1771-1859 was born in Rockingham County, Virginia and died in Scott County, Virginia.  My Henry Peters Sr. 1769-1850/60 was born in Pennsylvania and died in Anderson County, Tennessee.
