Nancy Careen (Carrie) Reneau was the daughter of James Lewis Reneau and Martha L. Broderick.  At the time of the 1930 census, Carrie was the widow of John W. Hamm.  James Arthur Slaton was the son of William Moses (Will) Slaton and Sarah May (May) Reneau.  Carrie Reneau and May Reneau were sisters.

May Reneau died shortly after her son Arthur was born, and Arthur was raised by Carrie and her husband John Hamm.

William Moses (Will) Slaton was the son of Frances Marion (Frank) Slaton and Mary Anne Moore of Jefferson County, Tennessee.  As such, Will Slaton was the nephew of my second great grandmother Susan A. Slaton who married Joseph Harrison in Jefferson County.

James Lewis Reneau was the son of my fourth great grandparents William Michael (Michael) Reneau and Priscilla Denton.  As such, James Lewis Reneau was the brother of my third great grandfather Isaac Wesley (Wesley) Reneau.  All these Reneaus were from Jefferson County, Tennessee.
