Thomas Roscoe Conklin (Roscoe) Messamore was the son of Thomas Harvey Messamore and Thomas's third wife Cordelia A. Weaver. I suspect that Roscoe and his descendants may have adopted the Massamore spelling rather than the Messamore spelling. Roscoe and both of his parents were born in Tennessee. Roscoe's birth places were listed correctly in all other censuses. It appears that in 1920, the birth places of his wife Eva Hicks may have been attributed to Roscoe as well. Thomas Harvey Messamore was the son of James Messamore and Sarah (Sary) Heath. As such, he was the nephew of my third great grandmother Anna F. Messamore. Eva Hicks was the daughter of Crebe Hicks and Caroline Collins. Note that there is an error in that Ellis Cleo (Cleo) Messamore was a male. |
