There is an error in the census because Lola was first married at age 21 rather than at age 16. The error arose on the part of the census enumerator because the census enumerator based Lola's age of first marriage on Lester's age of first marriage, and Lola was 16 at the time of Lester's marriage to his first wife Amy Buckner.20

E. Lester Peters, 1895-1971, same marker as Lola E. Peters.29
According to Lucille Wright, Lester taught school at the one room Claxton School at the time when Hutsell was sick (about 1920). The school was on the right side of Clinton Highway (northbound), before you get to the crossroads at Claxton. He could play the piano. He played fiddle at dances. His violin was originally Hutsell's. According to Jerry Bryan, Lester read music using the shaped note system. He was very upset if the church bought a new hymn book which did not have shaped notes. He stated that his Peters family had come to the United States from Germany.31,3
