Woodhead is my children's maternal line. Joseph Woodhead immigrated from Wakefield, England to (now) Sullivan County, Pennsylvania between 1830 and 1840. Many Woodhead descendants still live in Sullivan County.
People with the Woodhead surname are inevitably kidded about their name. In fact, the name means Head of the Woods or Head Woodsman, what we might now call the Chief Forest Ranger.
