John Henry Peters was more than just "acquainted" with John England.  They were related by marriage.  Indeed, John Henry Peters was related to the wife of John England, and John England was related to the wife of John Henry Peters.

The wife of John England was Jane Peters, who was the first cousin once removed of John Henry Peters.  That's because the father of John Henry Peters was John Wesley Peters, who was the first cousin of Jane Peters.

The wife of John Henry Peters was Hulda Asberine Cross, who was the first cousin once removed of John England.  That's because the mother of Hulda Asberine Cross was Zipporah Peters, who was the first cousin of John England.
