The MAYNARD family were Quakers and the information on them comes from works focusing on the Monthly Meeting Records the Quakers kept of their member families. There is no evidence that John BRAY was Quaker and Edward Payne BRAYdefinitely was not. (James E. Wall)

7. Susannah Coales^1,14 was born in 1695 in Leaky Springs, Virginia. She died in North Carolina. Her daughter Sarah is described as half Indian. If so, then Susannah must be full blooded Indian. It seems more likely that Susannah was half Indian and that Sarah was 1/4 Indian.
