Fourth Generation

52. Sarah Bryan50. Birth: about 1800, Tennessee. Sarah is not proven as the daughter of Peter Bryan and Betty Hubbard. Sarah was born in Tennessee according to census records, and she was married in Sevier County in 1818 according her husband's War of 1812 pension application. So she was very likely born in Sevier County. The only two Bryan men in Sevier County in the 1800 timeframe were Peter Bryan and Peter's brother Allen S. Bryan Sr. Sarah would have been a fairly late child for Peter -- he was about 45 years old in 1800 and his wife Betty Hubbard was about 40. Allen S. Bryan's first child was born in 1797. But we have the Allen S. Bryan Sr. family bible, and Sarah does not appear in the bible. So it seems likely that Sarah was the daughter of Peter Bryan and Betty Hubbard. (RGB)
