Stanley Cate, age 85, Kodak, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 1997, at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville, following a brief illness. He was a member of Kodak United Methodist Church and was a prominent farmer of Sevier County. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Ethel Hatcher Cate; parents, Walk and Vestia Cate; sister Genella Hodge; brothers, Maurice, Max, and Mark Cate. He is survived by his wife, Treva Cate of Kodak; sister and brother-in-law, Lena and Bobby Holbert of Kodak; sister, Willie Cate of Knoxville; brothers, and sisters-in-law, John and Betty Cate of Dandridge, Wilburn and Barbara Cate of Knoxville; step-son Jimmy Liston of Dandridge; special sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Cate of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, prior to the funeral service beginning at 8 p.m. at Kodak United Methodist Church. Rev. Robert McClellan and Rev. Ernest Condee will be conducting the service. The interment service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 4, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Sevier County. Memorials may be made to the Kodak United Methodist Parsonage Fund, 2946 Douglas Dam Road, Kodak, TN 37764. Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge is in charge of arrangements.

Cate, Treva Liston - age 92 of Dandridge passed away Friday, December 01, 2006 at the Jefferson Co. Nursing Home where she had been a resident for 15 years. She was born and raised in the Kodak Community of Sevier Co. and was a member of the Kodak United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husbands, Frank Liston and Stanley Cate; parents, Loy and Belle Wheeler; granddaughter, Kathy Liston Watson and three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law: James and Betty Liston; grandson: Dan Pearson great-granddaughter: Charlotte Watson; great-grandson: Daniel Pearson; special niece: Brenda Claiborne; sister-in-law: Alda Wheeler.
