Obituary: Reported in the Kansas City Star Times 5/22/1979:
Arthur F. Childers, 83, of 10024 w. 51sr, Merriam, died Tuesday at Shawnee Mission Medical center. He was born in Koshkonong, Mo., and had lived in this are 58 years. Mr. Childers had been a machinist for the Gulf Moble and Ohio Railroad 40 years before retiring in 1962. He was an Army veteran of World War I a member of the Peter Smith American Legion Post and the Oak Cliff Assembly of God Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Beulah Childers of the home; a son, Harold Childers, Lake Lotawana; a sister Mrs. Sylvia Redburn, West Plains, Mo.; two grandsons; and five great-grandsons. Services will be at 1p.m. Friday at the Amos Chapel; Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
